Choose My Electric LLC ("Choose My Electric," "we," "our," or "us") provides the Choose My Electric mobile applications, including consumer, testing, and administrative versions of the app (collectively, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect

We do not collect precise GPS location through the App.
C. Purchase information
If you buy AI scan credits or similar in-app products, purchases are processed by Apple or Google, as applicable. We may receive transaction metadata needed to confirm the purchase, restore credits, prevent fraud, and provide support. We do not receive your full payment card number.
2. How We Use Information
We use information we collect to:
- upload, scan, and analyze utility bills
- extract bill fields and help populate bill review screens

- show rates, estimated savings, and supplier recommendations
- save your current plan and supplier history
- help you complete supplier enrollment flows

- send contract expiration reminders and related notifications if you opt in
- support AI bill scanning and local/on-device fallback scanning

3. Bill Scanning, AI Processing, and Local Processing
The App supports bill scanning and document analysis.
- When you upload a bill image or PDF, the App may process the document locally on your device and/or send relevant content to our backend services for parsing and extraction.
- When AI-powered bill scanning is enabled, bill content may be sent through our backend to third-party AI service providers that help us extract structured bill information.
- In some situations, such as low connectivity, unavailable AI services, or credit limitations, the App may attempt a local fallback scan on the device instead.
We use uploaded documents and extracted bill data to provide the bill review, rate comparison, and supplier recommendation features of the App.
4. Analytics
We use analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it over time.
Our analytics may include:
- anonymous install ID
- event name and timestamp
- app version
- optional state, city, and ZIP code associated with an event or uploaded service location
Our backend is designed to store aggregated service-location analytics and event analytics for reporting and product planning. We do not use analytics to sell your personal information.
5. Notifications and Reminders
If you choose to receive reminders, the App may schedule notifications related to contract expiration or related plan timing. You can control notification permissions in your device settings and, in some cases, inside the App.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
- with service providers that help us operate the App, host backend services, analyze bills, deliver notifications, or process in-app purchases
- with AI processing providers used for bill extraction and structured data generation
- with Apple or Google for purchases, distribution, notifications, crash handling, or platform operation
- if required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process
- to protect the rights, safety, property, users, or integrity of Choose My Electric LLC and others
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction
We do not sell your personal information for money.
